Senior Specialist Packaging Operations

The Senior Specialist Packaging Operations as a member of packaging management team will act as the department’s primary point of contact for all internal operations, packaging purchases, inventory analysis, and reporting of department financials/metrics. This role is responsible for identifying, documenting, and evolving internal processes and operations, making decisions that ensure maximum efficiency and margin.

Responsibilities:

  • Makes profitable procurement decisions, including timing and quantity of purchases, to ensure timely, adequate, and appropriate levels of customer packaging that meet company revenue and profit targets.
  • Manages packaging updates and transitions, responsible for ensuring projects are started, implemented, approved, and shipped within required timeline.
  • Responsible for inventory monitoring and management. Uses all available systems to monitor orders for correct items, quantities, prices, and delivery dates for products. Creates and implements plans to resolve any issues quickly, keeping all teams informed of status.
  • Makes decisions on print partners and viability of business partnership. Develop and grow network of print vendors, ensuring network can deliver on cost, capabilities, and quality expectations required. This is a critical step that directly affects cost of goods and resulting margin.
  • Responsible for margin preservation and improvement through management of internal operations. This includes identification, documentation, evolution, and communication of internal processes, working to improve operational efficiencies and improve margin. Responsible to update affected personnel and cascade relevant information
  • Analyze and report on financial performance using all systems available. Makes recommendations on procurement decisions and/or inventory level adjustments based on current financial performance.
  • Responsible for monthly budgeting and full year forecasting, working in conjunction with Agency Account Manager to deliver accurate forecast
  • Supports new business development efforts in researching and executing quotes for new business

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+Years of experience in professional inventory management experience required on medium to large projects.
  • Ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports efficiently and effectively
  • ERP software experience preferred – eg: JDE, AX, MS Dynamics
  • Grocery and/or retail experience preferred
  • Self-motivated, independent worker who is results oriented
