Retail Area Manager - Canada

Unilever is hiring a highly dynamic Retail Area Manager who will be responsible for achieving and maintaining all client and customer standards by overseeing and directing activities of Retail Sales Specialists and merchandisers within an assigned territory. You will work closely with Business Development Managers, clients, store managers, and various retail personnel to ensure retail business objectives are exceeded.

What You’ll Do:

  • Business Development: work on the achievement of in-store retail excellence goals by building goodwill clients, timely new item retail placement, and ensure completion of all retail projects
  • Client Audits:  Will increase brand representation by effectively managing and directing retail personnel, conducting store audits, and executing all retail projects.
  • Sales and Merchandising: work with regional team to establish priorities and tactics against objectives and business needs.
  • New Items: meet business objectives through placement of new items in all authorized stores.
  • Shelf Standards and Conditions: will authorize items to meet Client shelf schematic standards
  • Budget and Expense Control: goal of coming in under budget and having excellent control of expenses.


  • (Required): High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience
  • (Preferred): 1-3 years of experience in the administrative or retail environment. Prior sales and marketing or industry experience
  • Intermediate Excel, PowerPoint, and basic Access skills
  • Complete understanding of retail reporting system, how to input information and pull reports, as well as serving as a contact for new users
  • Ability to effectively communicate professionally with associates, clients, and customers
