Sourcing Business Manager

Reporting to a Director, this position is responsible for supporting the client’s overall sourcing objective to reduce the cost of goods and expand supplier capabilities. This role will have responsibilities within the execution of sourcing initiatives, finding new qualified sources of supply, and ensuring new products hit launch timelines.

 Responsibilities:

  • Perform, coordinate and lead the analysis and development of sourcing strategies and execution
  • Maintain and update Sourcing Project Tracker and Global Vendor Matrix for assigned categories
  • Provide qualified new domestic and direct import sources of supply, ensuring all suppliers are vetted before submitting to the client as a potential source of supplier
  • Leverage existing knowledge and retailer best practices to drive consistency and standardization of sourcing activities
  • Attend Trade Shows and participate on sourcing trips when requested (be the Daymon support member at shows)
  • Support Sourcing Director with presentation development and other project management responsibilities including representing the Sourcing team in line reviews and other relevant discussions for assigned categories
  • Support the line review and bid process through cost analysis across multiple suppliers and scenarios
  • Ensure execution of the Large Account Management Process framework to identify the most critical initiatives and relationships and work with the team to lay out short and long-term plans to achieve relationships at the appropriate level for the account or assigned category business unit.
  • Demonstrate functional expertise in all facets of Private brand sourcing via on-the-job development, educational and networking opportunities.
  • Attract, develop and retain key talent to enable the execution of the collective goals of the customer and the enterprise.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA/Graduate Degree preferred
  • 3 years of professional work experience required; 5 years preferred
  • Experience with Global Sourcing and Direct Imports a plus
  • Experience in Private Brand Management a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams
  • Ability to contribute to setting and achieving budgets
  • Good grasp of Product Development, Marketing, Retail, Category Management, and Logistics
