Division Controller

Advantage Solutions is looking for a detailed and results-driven Divisional Controller to join the corporate team at our Irvine headquarters.  The Divisional Controller is responsible for accounting, budgeting and financial reporting for an assigned division, office or market.  The ideal candidate will ensure the application of accounting principles and practices, demonstrating excellent communication skills with all levels of the organization.  The ideal candidate will have experience with full cycle accounting experience combined with exceptional financial analysis skills within organizations that have a minimum of $100 million in revenue. Responsibilities:

  • Lead month-end close process for the division(s): produce GAAP financial reports by reviewing Journal Entries and Account Reconciliations, as well as owning the revenue recognition process.
  • Work with team to improve accounting processes and ensure deadlines are met with accordance with company calendar.
  • Analyze monthly results (variance/flux explanations) for revenue and profits and prepare support for the board commentary and analysis. Also review results with division management to discuss corrective actions and/or trend changes.
  • Responsible for monthly forecast and annual budget process for departments/divisions. Identify risks/opportunities and provide variance explanations.
  • Provides financial analysis for Operations monthly and develop financial models for new business opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Inventory management and cost of sales reporting experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Asset, and payroll. SOX compliance and revenue recognition.
  • Public accounting experience or prior work with public or medium to large audited companies
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience.  CPA or CPA candidate preferred. Microsoft Dynamics AX experience a plus.
  • Ability to complete multiple duties with accuracy shifting from one to another with frequent interruptions and competing deadlines.
  • Flexibility for occasional travel (up to 20%)
