Associate Creative Director

PromoPoint, a Retail Promotion agency within Advantage Solutions, is in search of a dynamic and driven Associate Creative Director. In this role you will spearhead the day-to-day operations and content creation within your team of designers and production staff. You possess the ability to elevate the design and function of the creative product through constructive input and innovative feedback. You drive the team to think Creative in Context, and you can easily tweak and tighten a headline or make design suggestions to consistently improve the creative product. You monitor workflow and processes to facilitate efficiency within your team. You are equal parts teacher, mentor, and talent developer. Working as part of a team, you research new vendors, industry innovations and needs of current clients and retailers. You problem solve. You understand the business side of client brands, retailers and vendors. You also have the ability to help assess the business needs of clients and translate them into functioning design. You continually provide solutions, estimates and insights toward new business initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish, manage, and maintain the creative direction and goals for specific projects ensuring they fit the Client, brand, and business objectives.
  • Effectively direct the team to deliver design and messaging to ensure an integrated communication piece.
  • Roll up your sleeves when needed on design or copywriting at a moment’s notice. Provide a day that is balanced with mentoring and bettering your team while executing great creative yourself.
  • Manage projects from beginning through completion ensuring all deliverables are met.
  • Provide guidance to the Creative team relative to the team’s knowledge and understanding of the Client’s business and marketing needs and situations.
  • Manage a production staff that takes Shopper Marketing programs from contract to execution
  • Evaluate and improve design and production process

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Advertising, Graphic Design, Communications, Journalism or equivalent job-related experience is preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in consumer products, media, or agency
  • Strong understanding and experience with Shopper Marketing programs, that are also retailer specific.
  • Experience effectively managing a team of graphic designers and production staff
  • Ability to meet and/or exceed deadlines and deliverables
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Ability to visualize and plan objectives and goals strategically with the ability to make oral presentations
  • Skill in supervising to include delegating responsibility, training and evaluating the performance
  • Ability to effectively utilize MAC computers and current fluency in Adobe Creative Cloud programs such as: (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat, After Effects) and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Entourage).
  • Experience with project management software preferred ie: TeamGnatt, Workfront
  • Experience with Wordpress, HTML, CSS strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of print production (CMYK) and digital design (RGB)
