Accounting Manager

Responsibilities:

  • General Ledger and Accounting Cycle
    • Oversees general ledger integrity by reviewing and approving Journal Entries.
    • Perform account reconciliations.
    • Manage payroll and expense accruals.
    • Assists in resolving account discrepancies by investigating documentation.
    • Assists with various accounting functions in problem resolution as needed or special projects assigned by Divisional Controller or Finance Manager.
    • Ensures accurate financial results by participating in the closing of the monthly and annual accounting cycle.
    • Work with internal customers to ensure consolidated financials are accurately stated.
    • Gather and respond to both internal and external Audit requests.
    • Perform account analysis, prepare and enter journal entries for assigned responsibilities.
    • Ensure Balance sheet reconciliations are SOX compliant.
  • Forecasting and Budgeting
    • Assist Finance Manager to create forecasts and budgets by collecting, analyzing and summarizing account information and trends.
    • Assists Divisional Controller in compiling and disseminating data to required parties.
  • Systems Improvement and Training
    • Improves the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of our processes by recommending /implementing improvements to processes, systems, procedures and software.
    • Ensure all processes are appropriately documented.
    • Train employees on processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience required; or CPA preferred equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in Accounting
  • Supervisory experience
  • Ability to complete multiple duties with accuracy shifting from one to another with frequent interruptions and competing deadlines
  • Detail oriented and strong prioritization skills
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web-browsers
  • Flexible and adaptable, able to change and alter according to changes in projects or business needs.
